“My sister, a former French teacher, gave me a book in French for young children. I gave it to the children of a friend here in the village. The children were really excited to have a book!”
A wonderful community service opportunity for French clubs, French Honorary Societies, and French classes.

There are so many children in this small Senegalese town who have never owned a book! Please help change that by sending gently used or new French books to them or donating money so that books might be bought in Senegal (and thus avoid the cost of shipping.) Books for kids anywhere from pre-school to teen would be terrific, especially pre-school to 6th grade-level. In addition, the local school has only ten textbooks for a class of forty children. Donations to WAME would help purchase books for all students. MERCI!
Books may be shipped to: Dr. David Levine B.P. 141 Diouloulou, Ziguinchor Sénégal
Funds may be donated via www.gambiarising.org/WAME with a note indicating that the funds are for the book project. Dr.Levine can buy books in Ziguinchor, 2 1/2 hours from his village where there are several librairies.
